Free Continuing Education Modules
Members of the OBC: Opticians of British Columbia recieve four free continuing education credits per year. Upon renewal of your membership, or when signing up for the first time, you will receive an application to select the modules which provide you with your four free credits. The continuing education modules are sent to you via email.

Errors & Omissions Insurance
Together with Mitchell & Abbot Group, the OBC: Opticians of British Columbia offers members Errors/Omissions Liability Insurance at the low rate of $75.00/year for three million dollars of coverage or $90.00/year for five million dollars. The policy protects members from lawsuits being brought against them as a result of professional negligence. Additionally the OBC: Opticians of British Columbia insurance assists you in costs associated with disciplinary action by the COBC and for costs associated with any criminal prosecution that results in a "not guilty" verdict.

The OBC: Opticians of British Columbia newsletter focuses on the changes in the industry that effect the livelihood of Canadian opticians. It features articles on legislation and other topics that will help opticians to compete equally in todays market place. In addition to give you a wider perspective, the OBC: Opticians of British Columbia members will recieve a copy of the Opticians Association of Canada "Eyesite" newsletter. Vision Magazine, the official publication of the Opticians Association of Canada, speaks to all optical professionals. In addition to Canada's practicing Opticians and opticianry students, Vision Magazine is read by optometrists and ophthalmologists as well as students of those professions. OBC: Opticians of British Columbia members receive Vision Magazine free of charge through the mail. Vision magazine is a truly Canadian optical publication created specifically with the needs of Canadian Opticians in mind.

Free Copy of Canadian Industry Performance Standards for Canadian Optical Goods Stores
The OBC: Opticians of British Columbia has access to the report Canadian Industry Performance Standards for Canadian Optical Goods Stores.  There is a report for small business (revenue from $30,000 to $5 million) and a report for medium size businesses (revenue from $5 million to $25 million).  This report is available to members of the OBC at no charge.  If you would like a copy, contact the OBC: Opticians of British Columbia and we will send it to you at no charge.  It is also available electronically.

Special Subscription Rate to: 'Spectrum Magazine'
North America's leading optical journal, Contact Lens Spectrum, is offered to OBC: Opticians of British Columbia members at a discounted price of $50.00 (reg. $72.00) per year. The magazine provides constant updates for contact lens fitters on new products and topical articles, and is published monthly. A fully accredited contact lens continuing education module is published in every third issue of the magazine.
