The OBC: Opticians of British Columbia together with our partners the Opticians Association of Canada offer BC opticians and student opticians a comprehensive education in Opticianry.

NAIT/OAC Optical Programs The next intake of the Automated Refracting Theory Program is September 13, 2010. The application deadline for this intake is August 15, 2010. The next intake of the NAIT/OAC Optical Sciences Programs is September 13, 2010. Application deadline is August 15, 2010.

Programs:

• Optical Sciences - Eyeglasses 1. NAIT/OAC
• Optical Sciences - Eyeglasses 2. NAIT/OAC
  (A program that meets the requirements of the College of Opticians of Brtish Columbia for the entry to practice for Eyeglass Dispensing)

• Optical Sciences - Advanced Practice 1. NAIT/OAC
• Optical Sciences - Advanced Practice 2. Contact Lenses NAIT/OAC
  (A program that meets the requirements of the College of Opticians of Brtish Columbia for the entry to practice for Contact Lens Dispensing)

• Optical Sciences - Advanced Practice  2. Sight-Testing NAIT/OAC
  (An optional learning program to enhance an optician's training)

• Automated Refracting Theory. NAIT/OAC
  (A program that meets the requirements of the College of Opticians of British Columbia for opticians conducting automated refractions)

• Community Outreach - Vision Screening Adults. OBC/OAC
• Community Outreach - Vision Screening Children. OBC/OAC
  (Each of these programs are recognised by the College of Opticians of British Columbia as been suitable for entry to practice training or for continuing educuation options.)
